Day 3

Today started well and then got tough. Started from Dover after a lovely stay with Colin & Jan. I was taking the North Downs Way and it is beautiful, especially the cliffs between Dover and Folkestone. But up and down so hard work. And then I lost the path completely so ended up walking along the A20 towards Ashford. Met a couple of guys cycling from London to Paris for charity – nice to know I’m not the only loony in Kent! I got to Ashford for 5.30 but couldn’t contact my couchsurfer contact – communication breakdown. I was so tired I found a B&B – expensive but warm, comfy beds and hot and cold running.   My blister seems to be OK thanks to the gaffa tape and my legs seem OK too. And I’ve had my first donations into my collecting tin – woohoo.
So 3 days and about 56 hard miles walked. So far so good.
